YORK — An 18-year-old McCool Meeting man was preparing to enter
the York County Courtroom Wednesday, established at the metal
detector, when hypodermic syringes fell out of his pocket, as
witnessed by a York County sheriff’s delegate.
Seeing how Zachary Gilliam was already out of jail with a
condition that if he tested complimentary to any drug use, he was
transported to the probation office for immediate testing. When his
tests came back complimentary for using amphetamine and methamphetamine,
he was jailed.
On Jan. 20, Gilliam pleaded no competition to attempted possession
of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. At that time, Size up Mary
Gilbride ordered the bond condition, warning Gilliam that if any
tranquillizer was identified in his system before his sentencing, he would
be instantly detained.
Court documents did not indicate whether the needles contained
illicit drugs, but the items are obviously not allowed in the
courtroom.
Investigators say Gilliam was affluent into the courtroom not for a
personal appearance but rather “to support a friend.” They also say
that Gilliam admitted to using methamphetamine.
