Withstand it. The defining reliance of Judaism is that God gave them a law at Mount Sinai, an unrevealed mountain, and agreed with them via Moses, the spokesman of the Jews (then called Israelites), a covenant by which God would succour the Jews providing that they remained self-righteous, connotation that they obeyed the law He had understood them. Thus the confluence of God and the Jews at Sinai is decisive to the Jewish creed. That being so, it has much to peach us about Jewish origins, but the justification of the Sinai anyway in the reality is set, in the biblical record, at the opening of the Iron Age. All of this experience is absolutely traditional, and is not believed by anyone unless they are besotted by creed. In this receptacle, patent clues can be teased out that advocate the Sinai issue was really the reading of the law by Ezra, a Persian, 700 years later in the fifth century.
