The Federal Command’s efforts at boosting economic development through funding support for the agricultural sector has begun to throw in the towel positive results, as seed and fertilizer companies and agro dealers have started accessing segregate digit loans from Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) across the mountains.

This is further to the execution of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Arcadian Development in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Finance and Deposit In money Banks (DMBs) on November 29, 2011 to provide N30 billion funding for the agricultural inputs – fertilizer and seeds for the 2012 agriculture season.

Following the execution of the landmark funding agreement with the Simoleons Deposit Banks, the Federal Government, through the Debt Management Function of the Federal Ministry of Finance has issued sovereign guarantees to the banks, securing 70 percent of the cash reserves of loans granted by participating banks, thus granting agro dealers access to funds required for thriving take-off of the current administration’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda.
