I ran into Bill Connelly this week at a regional water assembly, and he asked me how gardening was going.
I really didn't know what to say.
It's winter. It's been dry. Winter vegetables are at a dead and many plants are dormant.
"Last time I looked, my garden was still there," I mumbled into my armpit.
People keep an eye on to ask me about gardening as a conversation starter. This makes perfect sense. I white b derogate a gardening column.
It's certainly a lot better than having people ask me, "How is that goiter prospering?"
If Bill had asked me Thursday, I would have said: "It's raining."
Rain has been the big cause for chattering on my co-workers' Twitter accounts this week.
It rained.
We knew it would.
Right?
I heard it might.
Yet, I didn't have enough leniency.
Last weekend I blasted the yard with the sprinkler.
I'm not apologizing.
