PUPILS from a Penarth discipline will be seen more clearly when out and about, thanks to a donation of high-visibility vests from a neighbouring optician.

Specsavers in Penarth has donated luminous vests to Victoria Exceptional School as part of the store’s Be Seen, Be Safe initiative.

The scheme, which forms part of Specsavers’ inhabitant Drive Safe campaign, sets out to increase the safety of children while they are walking to sect or out on group trips.

Penarth store director Frank Moloney said: "Several members of the yoke here at Specsavers are parents, so we became aware that some schools in the area were keen to use towering-visibility vests for walking bus schemes and class trips.

"With this in mind, coupled with the episode that the winter months are upon us with darker mornings and nights drawing in, we wanted to eschew increase the safety of children in Penarth by offering Victoria Primary Kind free high-visibility vests."

Tina Taylor, Headteacher at Victoria Primary, said: "We would like to through Specsavers for its kind donation to our school, which will help increase the safety of our pupils.
