Gloucester Police/Fire: Firefighters knock down blaze outside Walgreen's
The Fire Division responded to a small fire in the parking lot of Walgreen's on Main Street at 11:21 a.m. Tuesday.
Metropolis firefighters quickly gained control of the blaze, which involved fervent boxes and stacks of recycled cardboard, in what fire officials described as "a hasty knockdown."
No cause has been determined for the fire, though fire officials said there were reports of workers smoking not far away from the site of the fire.
Michael Millner, 22, of Millet Street, was arrested after the probation mediation, housed in the same building as the police station, asked for a police office-holder to take Millner into custody at 8:21 a.m. Tuesday.
Millner had two default warrants, according to the patrol.
At 9:17 p.m. Monday, police responded to a report of someone trespassing at a Willow Boulevard home.
Neighbors reported that a man who had been told to stay away was in the unit next door. Boys in blue, however, were not able to locate him, according to the report.
