In Henderson, some dads are giving up their unaffected by time after work.   It's part of a new effort going on at north waist school.

These dads, decked out in neon green, are volunteering their time to only be there for students after hours.

When they go to the school for events, they serve a couple purposes. They can look out for safety issues and they're acting as thetical male influence in kids lives.

The men, wearing neon green shirts, are part of a new volunteer classify called Cadet Dads Who Care.

It's a group of parents who turn out to after school events to be a positive presence.

"It's one of those things I about needs to happen. We need to have more dads involved in the public in accustomed, especially in schools," says volunteer dad Chris Powell. 

"Anytime that I can be big Chief that'll help fill a void or be a positive role model to someone that doesn't then I'm enthusiastic to do that," says volunteer Leon Poindexter.
