CLEVELAND -- This may be the time for shopping, but experts say it's the season for scamming.

With millions of us using the Internet to pay those bills and send those packages, a lot of scammers are working overtime.

Many of us persist and log our lives online, which is why Jennifer Raby wasn't ready for what happened next.

"First I had the filthy screen of death pop up- booted through that, then had a blank screen," Raby explains.

She accidentally clicked on a corrupt relate.

"I got a pop-up window to renew my anti-virus, well the anti-virus was the virus," Raby says.

Computer surveillance experts say these types of scams spike during the holidays, but whatever you do online, experts say you shouldn't be doing this: Using one watchword for all your websites.

Chad King, CEO of Internet security company KingPin Computers, says that is the most trite mistake people can make.

King says sites can in reality share this information, making it easier for scammers to hack into your accounts.
