In combining, half of LG's televisions will offer 3D and smart features for Internet access. Its elegant TV browser will now support HTML5. The company will focus more on passive 3D viewing. Although Google TV was predicted to be a big part of the exert pressure conference, it got just the briefest of mentions when LG noted that its smart TVs will incorporate Google TV.
The company released details about the LG Spectrum for Verizon Wireless. The Android phone will report in with Gingerbread but be upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich and has 1.5GHz dual-heart processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and a "true HD IPS display." EPSN will give HD video at 720p. The Spectrum will launch on January 19 for $199 with a two-year contract.
LG also unveiled another smartphone with unadulterated HD IPS display and with VMWare to allow people to create two phones out of one--one for organization use and one for personal use. More details on that phone will be released in February
The company is also focusing on aware appliances, including a smart fridge that tracks your food purchases and that features a five-second "chill blaster" for cans of soda or beer. LG will also sell a robotic vacuum cleaner that can be activated from a smartphone and unloose an ultra-fast washing machine.
